DIY Reinforced Shortened Housings

Each kit includes:

• 2 Steel Heavy Duty Housings 
• 2 Lower Spring Perches (2.5" and 2.25" available)
• 2 Spring Perch Lock Rings
• A set of height adjusting wrenches.
• Internal Snap ring to retain strut insert.

All the components that we use to make our reinforced housings available to you.

These housings require you to remove the stock strut housing from the spindle.   This is not a recommended product for people who are inexperienced.   

You can remove the stock housing a number of ways,  We use a 25-ton hydraulic press. 

Once the spindles are separate they need to be cleaned and then the housings can be welded to the bases.

These housings are currently unplated so you would need to have them plated after they are welded to spindles to protect them from corrosion.   You can not powder coat the threads or the perches will not fit.   

We can have the housings plated for an additional charge.

These housings have the stock internal threads of m48x1.0.  This allows the use of a Volvo 240 gland nut

They have an internal diameter of 44.4mm  This is sized to fit Koni race inserts with slip fit which provides maximum heat transfer to the strut body.
